The Redbank Valley Trails has been chosen as the 2014 Trail of the Year by Pennsylvania Department of Conservation & Natural Resources. This is the first time that DCNR has awarded this honor.

Redbank Valley Trails is a 51-mile non-motorized, 4-season trail. 42 miles of the trail run parallel along the scenic Redbank Creek through mostly natural areas.

The trail travels from the confluence with the Allegheny River through New Bethlehem in Clarion County at the mid-point, touching on Armstrong County, through Hawthorn (near the Redbank Valley Municipal Park), to Summerville and continuing currently to just beyond the Rose Siding Bridge, near Maple Street, in Brookville, Jefferson County. There is also a 9-mile spur from Lawsonham to Sligo.
